Judges Meshack Asare, Jamila Gavin, Jack Mapanje and Helen Oyeyemi Ekow Bentum was born in Saltpond, Ghana, in 1984. He spent part of his childhood years in Norway where he fell in love with the wonderful works of the wacky children's writer, Roald Dahl, and developed a passion for reading and writing. Ekow currently resides in the coastal town of Elmina, Ghana.
